Calgary and Banff

The best time of year to visit Calgary and Banff would be the first week of July. The Calgary Stampede is going on and the Rodeo and the night Show they put on are both amazing. After the Stampede it is time to venture into Banff. The city of Banff is a one night stay as it is mostly a tourist trap city. Two things you need to do is the Gondola ride up to the top of the mountains and the Fairmount Banff Springs Hotel are must sees. Next head up to Lake Louise and I just staying at the Deer Lodge. It is just a short walk up to the famous Fairmount Chateau Lake Louis. From this location you can make multiple day trips to many parts of the park. You can take the Icefield Parkway up to Jasper and see Glaciers on the way which you can go out on. But a must stop is the Sunwapta Falls. These are the pictures with the river going around both sides and looks like a fairy land. Another day trip would be to Emerald Lake buried in between two mountains and an amazing setting. The next location is Moraine Lake. This is when the Deer Lodge comes in handy. To get into this location you need to drive before the sunrises. Once the sunrises you have to take a shuttle trip from 20 miles away to get in. But if you want that magical photo of Moraine Lake reflection you need to be there before the sunrises. After the sun rises and things start heating up the lake will start to get ripples.
